Whimsi's Kids Newsletter Issue No. 3: N'awlins Chef Party

Cook up a great chef party for your kid's next birthday!

If your little one loves helping in the kitchen, then we have the perfect birthday recipe for you. Pull out the apron and let your child play N'awlins chef for the day!

First, set the stage for your kid's cooking party by sending out invitations shaped like a chef's hat.

Then, with your child's help, identify a New Orleans inspired menu. What about building po' boy sandwiches with shrimp filling? Beignets and hot chocolate for dessert?

When your child's friends arrive at the party, show them how to make chef hats for their cooking adventure. Click here for a tutorial.

Now, off to the kitchen! Let the kids wash the lettuce and tomatoes for the po' boys. Supervise them as they
measure and pour ingredients, stir batter mixtures, and the like. And, please, don't let the kids fry the shrimp or the beignets; it's too dangerous. Once all the fixings are done, the kids can assemble their own sandwiches.  Then enjoy your mouth-watering meal topped with a fabulous dessert -- N'awlins style.

Your child and your child's guests are sure to be pleased with what they cooked up!
